Flash by Macromedia is a ground-breaking piece of
software that enables designers to express themselves
through the medium of the ‘moving image' over
the internet.
As broadband and faster internet connections start coming
into play, so too the use of Flash is becoming more
and more justified , though to access Flash animations
on your local drive or CDROM you only need a small
program called the Flash Player which is free to download
and use.
Where
Flash really comes into its own though is its ability
to be controlled by a scripting language.
Interactive
animation can be written, drawn and applied to various
elements, making games and learning applications that
can be customised for children of all abilities.
It
has enormous potential for the streaming of audio
and video onto live websites as well as interactivity
and the implementation of visually stunning imagery.
Imagine
the use of video clips and/or audio instruction incorporated
within your web page or learning program. The game below is just one example of a learning and coordination exercise for children that we designed using Flash.
